This helpful book assists the reader in checking the health of their spiritual life and walk with God. The author paints a number of ‘portraits’ of typical saints or sinners, describing the spiritual condition of each person’s heart. He does so in order that each of us might better understand ourselves, and how the strengths and weaknesses in our personality affect our relationship with the Father. In his introduction Mark writes, “Our spiritual portraits are far more significant than the likeness of our physical features. The shape of your nose or the color of your eyes only has temporary concerns, but your spiritual features can be the reason for all kinds of present difficulties, or blessings, in your life. Your spiritual portrait even indicates your eternal destiny.
The author has hope and encouragement for us, however, in the knowledge that even a badly flawed portrait can be changed and made new through Christ.
About the Author
Mark Nysewander was formerly pastor of Bethany Missionary Church, a cell church in Minneapolis, and has recently taken up a pastorate in Georgia. Mark has ministered for many years as an evangelist, missionary, church planter and pastor. mark is the author of ‘The Fasting Key’. He and his wife, Kathy, have three children.
